Roanoke, Virginia – Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is hosting Jazz in July on Friday, July 14th from 6 pm – 9 pm at the Goodwill Roanoke Jobs Campus (future home of Melrose Plaza). The event will be the first of many to come and will be held outside in the parking lot at 2502 Melrose Ave, NW, Roanoke.
Jazz in July is free to the public and will happen rain or shine. Goodwill asks everyone to please bring a canned food item to be donated to the Lion’s Share food pantry at St. Mark’s Church. Attendees should bring their own chair to enjoy the event. There will be live music, food trucks, and more!
The live music at Jazz in July will feature Allan Walker, a Roanoke native and Motown saxophonist; Angeleisha Rodgers, trumpeter from the Lincoln Center in NY; and special performance by vocalist, Bernadette Lark.
“We are excited to host the first event at the future home of Melrose Plaza,” states Donna Davis, Director of Special Projects & Events for Goodwill. “Jazz in July @ Melrose Plaza will be an evening of music, fun, and fellowship for the NW Roanoke community.
